Welcome to the team Grumpy Stu!

Stu, the Romanian street dog, is known as a bit of a character. We thought he’d fit right in…
Dogs are a big part of life here. You’ll usually find someone’s pooch snoozing under a desk or zooming around the office. We also know how hard it is to work with rescue animals that have had a rough start in life. So, in honour of Random Acts of Kindness Day, we decided to sponsor Grumpy Stu, a Sanctuary Dog at Dogs4Rescue.
This rescue centre has a unique kennel-free philosophy which gives dogs freedom to roam, sleep, play and socialise together instead of being cooped up all day. They call it The Rescue Revolution. It helps with rehabilitation and means more dogs can be saved and successfully rehomed.
The dog that doesn’t want a home
As it turns out, Grumpy Stu is still happier at the sanctuary than being in a new forever home. Dogs like Stu need the regular support of sponsorship from outside sources to help pay for their care. By contributing a small amount each month we can fund Stu’s pupkeep, including food, board and medical bills, while receiving regular pupdates on all of his crazy adventures.
Stu says, “Hello and fank you so much for sponsoring me. My name is Grumpy Stu and I am a sanctuary dog at Dogs4Rescue. I lives on the streets in Romania for over 10 years before coming here…
Em tries to find me a forever home but I just goes crazy trying to dig my way out of homes because I wants to be at the rescue. So eventually she says okies you will have to be a Sanctuary Dog. Yassss! Which was exactly what I wanted!!!”

Inspiring and generating lasting change
Stu is known as the resident ‘Business Dog’ who loves dressing up and fundraising for good causes. He sounds like the pawfect addition to our Foundry team! Stu will live permanently at the sanctuary’s Rescue World in the hills of rural Lancashire, which is an expansion of their original base near us in Manchester.
It includes land for rescued animals and a reservoir for wildlife. The hope is to create an alternative to traditional kennels, prevent dogs from entering the rescue system and help people too.
We’re so pleased to be able to contribute to such a good cause and can’t wait to hear more of Stu’s repawts. The team are currently looking for contributions towards the second phase of their build at Rescue World.
