The power of video in destination marketing
In the last few years video has exploded as an engaging, versatile tool for sharing content to a large audience across multiple platforms. A recent report even suggests online video is a 600% more effective marketing tool than print and direct mail combined.
When Marketing Sheffield approached us to help them promote Outdoor City Adventure Breaks video seemed the obvious choice to showcase all they had to offer.
Initially the project was focused on attracting thrill-seeking European millennials, but the travel restrictions which were in place at the time shifted the focus to a wider audience, including older generations and families.
Our task was to show gentler aspects of outdoor city enjoyment, such as gentle hiking, woodland activities and people enjoying the outside spaces in the city.
Over a period of three days, we captured footage that shows the diverse landscape of the city for potential visitors, from Park Hill city views to the Storrs Wood outside gallery.
The footage has been edited into dynamic video that shows off the green spaces of Sheffield and their proximity to the city centre. The video is being promoted on Marketing Sheffield’s website and social media accounts.
